Web OS 2.0 Announced, Good Not Great

Palm announced their second iteration of their cell phone OS, known as WebOS 2.0, today. This new OS comes with the announcement of their new smartphone, known as the Palm Pre 2. The Palm Pre 2 has a 1GHZ processor, 5 Megapixel camera, and comes out of the box with WebOS 2.0. New features of the OS are better multitasking (if it could get any better) because of the fact that the OS groups apps into a genre for easy finding and a larger app catalog that includes apps like Angry Birds, Asphalt 5, Pandora, NYTimes, Facebook, and many more apps. Because of the Pre 2's 1GHZ processor, WebOS will just fly on this device. In my opinion, this OS is the most beautiful and elegant of any mobile OS (including IOS) and everything just works. The software seems to be smooth, and there are little stalls and crashing as you might find on Android. The form factor of the Pre 2 is the same, but a little sleeker and higher end-feeling. Disappointingly though, the screen is still a measly 3.1 inches. I wish they could bump it up to 3.5 extremely badly, the screen feels very cramped. In the end Palm showed that they can still be up to par with the smartphone market, but didn't set any new industry standards.
